NE5 ($10.13-$14.18) Per Hour



Under direct supervision of the Store Managers or designated lead the Janitor performs assigned janitorial/custodial work inside and outside the Wa She Shu Travel plaza.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.

  • Preference will be given to Qualified Native American Indians.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and waxes floors.

  • Washes windows, walls, and mirrors.

  • Cleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes restrooms; replaces soap and paper products.

  • Unclogs lavatories.

  • Empties and cleans waste receptacles inside and out side store.

  • Disposes of trash appropriately.

  • Vacuums carpets.

  • Safely refilling propane tanks,stand alone and on recreational vehicles.

  • Empty trash and maintains window washing stations at all fueling pumps.

  • Cleans vents and light fixtures.

  • Replaces light bulbs.

  • Assists in moving furniture, store fixtures and or kitchen equipment .

  • Maintains equipment and custodial supplies and replenishes as needed.

  • Removes litter from grounds sweeping parking lot as needed.

  • Maintains entrances, steps, walkways, and parking lots.

  • Cleans snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, entrances, and steps.

  • Performs painting and minor maintenance and repairs.

  • Checks fire extinguishers are present and current.

  • empty and clean all ashtrays

  • Informs supervisor of any defects or repairs needed in buildings or on grounds.

  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.

  • Ability to safely use cleaning products and safely operate cleaning equipment.

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.

  • Ability to learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings, grounds, and equipment.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work as a team member in a structured working environment.

  • Ability to work with hand tools in a safe manner.

  • Skill in the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, carrying cases of soft drinks, beer and juice, bags of ice melt etc. Must be physically capable of shoveling snow, sweeping, mopping and other strenuous physical labor.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur, and the incumbent is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Work is generally performed in the Retail Store and Travel Plaza grounds. Travel Plaza is a 24 hour, 7 day operation. Day, swing, and grave yard shifts and/or holidays may be required.
