Position Summary

The Operations Manager has oversight to ensure ethical and professional operations of the Tribal Business entities. The Operations Manager relieves the Manager for vacations and time off. Working directly with the leadership teams to ensure safety, cleanliness, and Guest Service, while verifying compliance of internal controls and Policies and Procedures, the Operations Manager also monitors monthly Revenue and Expense reports reflective of the annual approved budgets. Direct involvement with strategic business planning and marketing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field (or can substitute 5 years management working experience)

  • PLUS 4 years’ experience in Management, with oversight of at least 30 Team Members (combined management work experience of 9 years)

  • Must possess and maintain a valid California/Nevada driver’s license (OR) obtain one within 30 days of employment

  • Must meet standards required for Insurance of company vehicles

  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen.

  • Must successfully meet standards for a background investigation.

  • Preference is to Qualified Native American Indians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create strong working relationships with all business leadership teams. Design and implement annual goals for the entity and for each Team Member to support Enterprise goals and succession planning opportunities. Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with Managers and attend respective monthly Board meetings. Create opportunities for business growth to support revenue targets.

  • Communication with all direct reports and team members is imperative. Responding to emails in a timely manner; returning telephone communication: meeting deadlines for report submission, including weekly summaries, entity BOD meetings/minutes and monthly Tribal Council reports.

  • Create annual budgets and perform monthly reviews to determine adjustments needed for financial projections. Review daily financial reports and bank deposits. Review daily safe counts and identify cash inventory variances from reconciliations. Review, approve and verify invoices, check requests, and monthly credit card reports per policy deadlines.

  • Research possibility expansion opportunities to increase revenue and generate new employment. Stay informed of local, state and federal legislation that is pertinent to the Tribal businesses, and recognize when deadlines are due for available Grants. Prepare marketing strategies to support growth.

  • Review and approve timecards, and time off requests. Facilitate Annual Performance Reviews for direct reports, including salary increase requisitions. Create succession-planning programs to support Team Member growth. Implement disciplinary action when necessary. Schedule required training to ensure compliance and ensure necessary OSHA certificates and other trainings are current.
